Weathering Testing Center of Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Sciences

combines Laboratory of Tropical Technology and three weathering testing sites, one of which
is located in Russian Federation (Maly Utrish settlement, Krasnodarsk krai), and two other sites
are located at the territory of Vietnam: Xoa Lac (Hanoi city, suburb) and Dam Bay (Hon Tre Island, within five kilometers off the Nhatrang coast).

Laboratory of Tropical Technologies was set up in 1993.

During the period from 1994 to 1996, the weathering testing stations began to work in Krasnodarsk krai and Vietnam.

From 1997 to date the Center was accredited by GosStandart of Russian Federation (at present Federal Agency for Technical Management ad Metrology) as a technically competent
and independent center (from a technical point of view) that ensures objectivity of tests
and independence from developers, producers and consumers of products.

The Center is an affiliated member of the world Net of the testing sites of the world-renowned net "ATLAS EI Devices" (USA) and at will of a customer, the Center can arrange natural tests
of materials and articles at the testing stations and sites of he USA, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Our partners are scientific research institutes, designing bureaus, and enterprises of aviation, ship-building, nuclear, and space-missile industries, as well as organizations of Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation.

Over the period of its existence, the center has carried out more than eighty studies, seven monographs have been published, four patents have been received, and four State Standards
of Russian Federation have been developed.

The works of the Center’s co-workers are published in journals such as "Corrosion: materials
and protection", "Chemistry and Fuel and Oil Technology",  "Paint industry", "environmental protection in oil and gas complex", et al.

There are seven candidates of sciences in the Center.
